Brian Reynolds leaves BHG

Today it was announced that Brian Reynolds, one of if not the mastermind behind Rise of Nations left BHG. His new employer apparently will be Zygna Games.

In case you think this is a good thing since he might be able to finally produce some quality RTS games again... well hope no more! As it seems all that Zygna does is programming casual "social-networking-games" for facebook and stuff. What the hell makes such a person (formerly at Microprose and Firaxis) fall so deep is beyond me (well in fact not - money rules the world). In any case: Farewell and R.I.P. RoN.

C:/ documments and settings/username/application data/microsoft games/rise of nations

Application data is a hidden file so you have to make it visible, i guess you know that.

Then open rise2.ini and find "SkipIntroMovies=0" . Delete 0 and write 1. Save the file.

Well not sure if it will help but if oyu get an error around intro screen then maybe. I do it everytime because it loads my ron faster.

Also "ForceLowCPUBackgroundVid=0" change to 1 for faster menu and everything.
Hope it helps :S

BHG got bought by a new company, so that's why he left :?

i mean a new company other than THQ. apparently it's a an IP based games developer, so not much hope for RoN2

its incredible the lack of vision from these people. titles that had such fan base and media hype, are just thrown to the bin

Zynga games are pretty much just browser-based clickfests. No graphics, no animation. Can't see why someone who has helped developed high quality games would want to be involved with that. Sad

Well, i guess money makes money, but still, not everything in life spins around money, most of things do, but not all...

So I guess the only thing I can do now is to become millionaire fast (lottery or betting would be best way), buy BHG and pay them to make RoN2...

hm...

and again hm...
