After the announcement we will start working on instructions on how to create and maintain a team to participate in the tournament as well as on other details of importance for this event.
Expect the the signup period to start by next Monday (14th) latest and please use the time until then to:
- Spread the word[/*]
- Start organizing a team and decide who the leader shold be (private team forums can be installed on request)[/*]
- Make sure you know the rules and try to make sure whether you have time on that weekend or not. No shows are a pain! [/*]

RAID III: Nomad Tournament
Section I: Set-up
After a couple of months rest it is time to get ready for another tournament! The third tournament will offer new challenges. RAID III will be a team based tournament, which means that besides individual skill, cooperation now comes into play. It will feature teams of 3 and you will be able to form these teams yourself. You should make teams of 5 players. This mean there will be 2 back-up players. It would be nice rotate the players so everyone can play, but this is completely up to you.
Another change compared to the previous RAID tournaments is that this tournament will be played with nomad settings. There will be a group stage followed by a knock-out stage. This way all teams get to play at least several matches, making it fun for everyone.
Section II: Dates
Soon the subscription will be opened and then you can sign up you and your team to the mastersleague website. You should sign up with the same name you always use, and please also use this name during the tournament to prevent confusion.
The Tournament will probably be held in the weekend of Juli 26th and Juli 27th.
The group stage matches will be held on Juli 26th and the semi’s and final will be held the day after.
Section III: Rules
-The games will be played according to the most commonly used nomad settings for Teams of 3. These are:
Teams & Allies: Teams of 3
Map Style: Secret Random Land
Map Size: Large (5-6 players)
Game Rules: Nomad (Low resources & nomad start)
Technology: Very Expensive and Slow
Wonder Victory: No Wonder Victory
Territory Goal: No Territory Victory
All other settings are standard.
Tournament Play: On
Lock Game Speed: On
Require Random Nations: On
All other boxes unchecked.
It is not allowed to deviate from these rules. And please note that we will use random nations.
-It is allowed to have observers, provided that all players agree with this. It is at your own risk however, because observers make drops and crashes more likely to occur.
-The back-up players should try to be present in the lobby at the match times, because at the last moment one of the team members might be hindered to show up.
-If your team cannot show up at the pre-determined date, please try to contact your opponents and try to reschedule the match. This rescheduled match should be played before the pre-scheduled match time. We cannot afford to run into any delay so playing later is simply not possible. Try to be flexible with such reschedules. And when you know you cannot make it, come up with it as soon as possible. Agreeing on a reschedule with at least 6 persons can take some time.
-And finally and maybe most importantly, please read the rules in advance!
Section IV: Claiming your victory
After a match is played one player of the winning team should upload the recorded game to the mastersleague website. To do this create a new topic in the recorded games section of the forums and call this topic: vs . Besides the recorded game you should also include the following information:
-Which team won
-The score. The score is calculated by rounding every individual team members end game amount of points by 1000s and adding these points to get a total score for both teams. The scores should then be divided by 1000.
Section V: Disputes
-In case of a drop, choose “Replace with AI”
-In case of OOS (Out of sync), play again
-In case of a no show: if a team doesn’t show up at all it will count as a loss. The score will be considered to be 10-0.
-If a team shows up with less than 3 players then the team is allowed to play with less players, but the other team can just play with 3 players. In this case change “Teams of 3” to “Custom teams”.
-In case of any other disputes, first try to solve a dispute yourself. Be reasonable, it is only a friendly tournament please keep that in mind. If you cannot solve it, contact one of the tournament hosts.
